Grab Thailand, the leading ride-hailing and food delivery platform, organized the policy forum “GrabNEXT 2024: Driving towards the Future of Tourism” in collaboration with public and private sectors to discuss and strategize Thai tourism to meet the needs of modern travelers and drive sustainable economic growth in Thailand.

Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Minister of Tourism and Sports, addressed the ministry’s goals to propel Thailand as a regional tourism hub (Tourism Hub) and aviation hub (Aviation Hub), setting a target revenue of 3.5 trillion baht from tourism. He emphasized the importance of collaboration from all sectors to achieve this goal.

Mr. Worachat Luxkhanadej, Managing Director of Grab Thailand, outlined Grab’s vision to utilize technology and its strong network of partners to enhance the Thai tourism industry. He introduced the T.R.A.V.E.L. strategy, consisting of six key pillars:

  2. Reliability & Safety: Building trust in safety through technology, measures, and campaigns.
  3. Accessibility: Promoting travel to both major and secondary cities by expanding ride-hailing services to 71 provinces and establishing pick-up and drop-off points at major airports.
  4. Valuable Experiences: Creating memorable travel experiences by enhancing driver-partners’ capabilities and offering GrabCar Premium services.
  5. Environmentally Friendly: Promoting eco-conscious tourism through Grab EV initiatives and carbon offset features.
  6. Local Touch: Encouraging travelers to experience local culture through various channels, such as the Grab & Go guidebook and the promotion of local food and products.
