HARMAN, a leading technology company under Samsung Electronics, has announced a major move in the automotive industry with a substantial investment of over 2.9 billion baht to establish a new manufacturing facility in Laem Chabang, a special economic zone (EEC) in Thailand.

The sprawling 47,000 square meter facility is poised to become a hub for the production of cutting-edge automotive components and solutions, particularly those driven by Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which are set to redefine the driving experience.

Christian Sobottka, President of HARMAN Automotive, remarked on the investment, stating, “HARMAN is committed to delivering the best automotive products and experiences to our partners and consumers. Expanding our manufacturing base to Thailand is a significant step, as Thailand not only boasts a highly skilled workforce and a robust supply chain but is also a rapidly growing hub for electric vehicle and future automotive technology production.”

Danai Nut, advisor to the Minister of Industry, added, “HARMAN’s investment aligns with Thailand’s economic development strategy, which focuses on promoting advanced technology and building a strong automotive supply chain. Moreover, this new facility will create over 1,200 jobs for the local community.”
