Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. continues its commitment to bridging the digital divide in Thailand through its “Digital Bus” project, a collaboration with the Border Patrol Police Schools under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The latest stop of this mobile classroom was at the Ban Khok Nis Thai Border Patrol Police School in Sakon Nakhon province, marking a significant step towards digital equality.

The Ban Khok Nis Thai Border Patrol Police School serves as an educational hub for over 262 students from 9 surrounding villages. The arrival of the Digital Bus brings essential digital knowledge and skills to these students and teachers. Huawei has tailored the curriculum to the local context, emphasizing the integration of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy with technology to promote sustainable development awareness.

Building an Equitable Future: 2,000 Students, 6 Provinces

Huawei aims to train 2,000 students and teachers across Thailand through the Digital Bus project in 2024, covering 6 provinces: Nakhon Phanom, Krabi, Kanchanaburi, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Nayok, and Rayong. The company is also collaborating with UNESCO to develop localized curricula that address specific needs, such as the application of technology in agriculture or cybersecurity awareness.

Dr. Apisit Puengporn, Director of the Royal Patronage Project, expressed his gratitude to Huawei for its dedication to supporting Thai youth, particularly through the diverse activities offered, including recreational activities for young children, meals, and school landscaping improvements. These initiatives inspire children in remote areas to dream big and access equal opportunities.

2 Years of Success: 4,500+ People, 14 Provinces

Over the past two years, the Digital Bus project has positively impacted over 4,500 students from upper elementary to lower secondary levels, as well as professionals from various fields, across 14 provinces in Thailand.

Huawei’s commitment extends beyond digital literacy to improving the overall quality of life for youth in remote areas.This includes providing Ideahub devices to Border Patrol Police Schools nationwide and piloting the Huawei Smart PV solar power solution at the Ban Mong Kaw Border Patrol Police School in Tak province.

The Digital Bus is just one facet of Huawei’s “Grow in Thailand, Contribute to Thailand” mission, which aims to propel Thailand towards becoming a digital hub in the ASEAN region and foster a society where everyone has equal access to technology.
