TikTok Celebrates Pride Month, Champions LGBTQIA+ Creators in Thailand and APAC

TikTok, the world’s leading short-form video platform, continues its Pride Month celebrations with a series of online and offline activities under the campaign #ForYourPride. Partnering with “Narumit Pride,” TikTok hosted a spectacular Pride Parade 2024, led by renowned LGBTQIA+ creators from Thailand and across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

TikTok’s commitment to being a voice for equality and diversity is evident in its acceptance to host Bangkok WorldPride 2028, aligning with the Thai government’s vision of creating an inclusive and non-discriminatory society.

The TikTok Pride Month 2024 festivities were packed with engaging events, including the “You Belong Here Celebration” seminar, aimed at empowering LGBTQIA+ creators, and the vibrant Pride Parade, featuring prominent Thai creators Thammachard, Artymilk, Turk_tk, Ployjan42, Janjanuary1, alongside numerous creators from the APAC region.

TikTok also launched the online #ForYourPride campaign, inviting everyone to join the celebrations through creative content and special features throughout June.

Ms. Chanida Klayphan, Head of Public Policy-Thailand at TikTok, emphasized the platform’s dedication to providing a safe and inclusive space for all users. “TikTok is committed to being a safe and inclusive platform, promoting equality and driving real-world opportunities for LGBTQIA+ creators,” she stated.

Thammachard, a popular creator, shared his experience, stating, “TikTok is a space where we can engage with others in the community widely.”

Ployjan42 and Janjanuary1 added, “We thank TikTok for supporting content creation and providing a safe space for participation.”

Janio, a creator from the Philippines, expressed his excitement, saying, “Being part of the Bangkok Pride Parade was a dream come true.”

TikTok’s Pride Month 2024 initiatives and collaborations with various sectors towards WorldPride 2028 signify a significant shift in Thailand’s global image as a society embracing equality.
