The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) and AIS ACADEMY have joined forces to launch “JUMP THAILAND HACKATHON 2024,” showcasing 15 cutting-edge innovations created by the younger generation to transform the lives of the elderly and people with disabilities through digital technology. Three outstanding teams have been awarded a total prize of over 200,000 baht!

Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary of the MSDHS, highlighted the severe “population crisis” Thailand is facing,with declining birth rates and a rapidly aging society. This project is part of the ministry’s 5×5 policy to address the crisis,focusing on empowering the elderly and enhancing opportunities for people with disabilities.
“We believe that ideas and innovations from the new generation will be crucial tools in sustainably improving the quality of life for the elderly and people with disabilities, both in terms of technology that facilitates convenience and the design of innovations to support the work of relevant personnel,” said Mr. Anukul.
AIS Academy Joins Forces with the New Generation to Drive Society with Digital Technology
Ms. Kantima Leelayootitham, Chief Human Resources Officer of AIS and Managing Director of AIS Academy, revealed that the JUMP THAILAND HACKATHON 2024 project has received overwhelming interest from students, who have collaborated with AIS employees to develop fascinating ideas.
“AIS believes in the potential of the new generation with digital skills and a public consciousness. This project is like a ‘small matchstick’ that will collectively ignite and illuminate Thai society,” said Ms. Kantima.
3 Outstanding Teams Win Awards and Opportunities to Work with AIS
- 1st Prize: Team PathSense from CMKL University developed a shoulder bag with an AI camera to help people with disabilities detect obstacles.
- 2nd Prize: Team AUTISM from Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, and Silpakorn University created a communication platform for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- 3rd Prize: Team LanMa from Thammasat University and Srinakharinwirot University developed a fall detection belt with an emergency alert system.
“It is difficult for any business to grow sustainably if the external society still faces challenges,” said Ms. Kantima. “AIS would like to thank the MSDHS for giving us the opportunity to participate in creating change for society, elevating the well-being of the elderly and people with disabilities to enable them to take care of themselves sustainably.”
