Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Malaysia Digital Content Festival (MYDCF) 2024 and the MyDigitalMaker International Carnival 2024 are back, this year held concurrently for the first time by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). The opening ceremony was graced by Yang Berhormat Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Communications and Digital, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

These two events serve as a crucial platform to promote digital technology knowledge and showcase the potential of young talents and innovations. They also act as a meeting point for skilled individuals and entrepreneurs in the animation,gaming, creative technology, comics, and esports industries.
MYDCF 2024 Highlights: Concerts by World-Renowned Artists
One of the major highlights of MYDCF this year is the concert and fan meet activities featuring world-renowned artists,including Nami Tamaki, the voice behind popular anime theme songs such as Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, and D. Gray-man, and Mayu Maeshima, who performed theme songs for anime like Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World, Full Dive, Overlord, and Uncle from Another World.
Additionally, artists from Hololive, such as Kobo Kanaeru, Pavolia Reine, Kureiji Ollie, and Ayunda Risu, will also be attending the event, along with Motoaki Tanigo (Yagoo), CEO of Cover Corp and founder of Hololive. Aina Aiba, singer and voice actress of Tokoha Anjō in Cardfight!! Vanguard G: NEXT, and many other artists will also be present.
MyDigitalMaker: Unleashing Tech Heroes
The MyDigitalMaker International Carnival is held under the theme “Tech Heroes Unleashed,” in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) and Synapze Sdn. Bhd. This is part of the MyDigitalMaker initiative, which aims to transform students from technology users to creators. Since 2016, over 2.5 million students have participated in various programs under MyDigitalMaker, such as Digital Maker Hub, #CikguJuaraDigital, MetaSkool, and Digital Ninja.
The carnival offers a wide range of activities that allow students to develop skills in various areas, including coding,robotics, application development, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and 3D printing. These activities stimulate interest and inspire the creation of digital innovations.
MyDigitalMaker Carnival: The Starting Point of Creativity
This year’s MyDigitalMaker Carnival kicked off with pre-event activities from May to September 2024, in collaboration with Pusat Sains Negara, Kelantan Digital Education Carnival, Sarawak State Level STEM Carnival, Johor STEM Carnival, and Kedah MaiREKA Carnival. Since its inception in 2016, this carnival has benefited over 150,000 primary and secondary school students nationwide.
Diverse and Engaging Activities
The event features a variety of exciting activities, such as the Young STEAMist exhibition, Digital Innovator Programme,Felda Robot Challenge, Champion School, MetaSkool, Green Sprout Innovation Challenge, Escape Room: BioDome, and Xsolla Curine. There are also competitions like the RacerBot Challenge, MakeX, TODAK Digital Creators Competition,Micro:Bit Innovation and Robotics, Fashion Technology, F1 in Schools, Battle of Digital Ninja, Creativity@Schools, and INTEL Geek Kids. Additionally, there are global collaborations with UNICEF on the Future Skills For All project and Canva Australia to promote learning opportunities for students and teachers.
