Suntory’s Mizuiku Water Conservation Project Wins Corporate Social Impact Award

Bangkok – Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a leader in health enrichment products in Thailand and Asia, has been recognized with the “Corporate Social Impact Award 2024” by the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM). The award celebrates the company’s “Mizuiku” water conservation project, which focuses on educating young people about sustainable water and environmental conservation.

AMCHAM’s Corporate Social Impact Awards honor member companies that demonstrate excellence in creating positive social impact in Thailand. The awards highlight projects that promote sustainable and positive societal change.

Mrs. Mathuvalee Stithyudhakarn, Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Affairs Director, Thailand and Indochina, represented Suntory in receiving the award. She stated, “The AMCHAM Corporate Social Impact Award reflects the company’s commitment to creating value for society and the environment. Under the ‘One Suntory Mizuiku Program 2024’, we are dedicated to raising awareness of water conservation among Thai youth.”

The “One Suntory Mizuiku Program 2024” utilizes Nature Classroom activities to provide hands-on learning experiences for young people. It also supports the integration of water conservation in schools through projects focused on four key areas: policy, stakeholder participation, infrastructure development, and community engagement.

Mizuiku Water

Suntory’s water conservation project was launched in 2021 to instill awareness among Thai youth about the importance of water resources. The project has organized Nature Classroom learning activities in various provinces across the country. Over 37,000 students have benefited from these activities and the implementation of water conservation projects in schools, and more than 180 teachers have been trained.

Over the years, Suntory has continuously developed its water conservation project. In 2021, under the theme “Save the Water, Save the World”, the company partnered with the Environmental Education Center (EEC) to organize Nature Classroom activities along the Andaman Sea in Phuket Province. In 2022, the project adopted the theme “Give Balance to Water and the World”, organizing activities in Rayong Province in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health, the Rayong Inclusive Learning Academy (RILA), and the Environmental Education Center. In 2023, the project expanded nationwide in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion and schools participating in the Eco-School project.

This year, Suntory partnered with Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to implement the “One Suntory Mizuiku Program 2024”. In collaboration with government and social sector partners, the program organized the “Mizuiku Water Hero Camp” and “Mizuiku Water Model School” activities. Student leaders and teachers from 30 schools in Rayong and Chonburi provinces participated in the program. Two winning schools from the “Mizuiku Water Model School” contest were also given the opportunity to visit Japan to learn about the origins of the Mizuiku program.
