BRAND’S Essence of Chicken Celebrates 25 Years of “BRAND’S Young Blood” Project

Bangkok, Thailand – Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of BRAND’S Essence of Chicken, continues its “BRAND’S Young Blood” project in collaboration with the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society, for the 25th consecutive year, aiming to instill a sense of giving among Thai youth through blood donation.

The “BRAND’S Young Blood” project originated from Suntory’s corporate value of “Giving Back to Society.” In partnership with the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society, it aims to cultivate a spirit of giving among the youth and new generation, encouraging them to donate blood for the first time and continue donating regularly every three months. This initiative seeks to help patients in need voluntarily, without expecting anything in return, and to increase blood reserves for emergencies.

Every year, the project receives a positive response, with new generation donors participating in blood donation through the project, meeting the set targets. In addition, various competitions are organized for university students to express their creativity and design works to raise awareness and provide knowledge about preparing for blood donation on a wider scale. These include Infographic Design Contests, Short Song Writing Contests, Dance Contests, and T-Shirt Design Contests.

Mrs. Mathuvalee Stithyudhakarn, Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Affairs Director, Thailand and Indochina, of Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that the “BRAND’S Young Blood” project reflects the company’s commitment to “Giving Back to Society.” Over the past 25 years, the project has been successful in creating a trend and fostering a sense of giving among youth through continuous blood donation.

“In 2025, we aim to collect 125,000 units of donated blood, an increase of 25,000 units from the previous year, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the project,” said Mrs. Mathuvalee.

Assoc. Prof. Dootchai Chaiwanichsiri, Director of the National Blood Centre, Thai Red Cross Society, stated that the center is the main agency responsible for procuring sufficient blood that meets international standards. Currently, Thailand needs up to 7,500 – 8,500 units of blood per day, but only receives 3,200 – 3,800 units per day, or only 42.67 – 44.71 percent. Youth blood donation accounts for only 11 percent of total blood donors, compared to 24 percent before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Blood donations from the private sector and young people are therefore crucial in saving lives,” said Assoc. Prof. Dootchai.

The project organizes roadshows to campaign for blood donation in educational institutions, along with mobile blood donation units in Bangkok, its vicinity, and other provinces. It also includes various competitions to provide university students with opportunities to showcase their creativity and disseminate knowledge about blood donation.
