Mr. Tanawit Tonekunya, President of the Thai Startup Trade Association, said that the Thai Startup Directory is a central platform for information on startup businesses in Thailand. It gathers information ranging from early-stage companies to those that have received funding, including data on products and services, as well as funding sources from both the public and private sectors.
“This platform will help Thai startup entrepreneurs access information essential for business growth, enabling them to plan and make decisions more effectively,” said Mr. Tanawit.
The Thai Startup Directory also helps fill the gap in Thailand’s startup business database, which will benefit government agencies in planning and formulating policies to support startups more effectively.
“This project aims to help more than 300 early-stage Thai startups connect with funding sources, industries, and government agencies effectively,” added Mr. Tanawit.
The Thai Startup Directory project is supported by the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF), which recognizes the potential of Thai startup businesses to grow and enter the capital market in the future.
At the project launch event, a seminar titled “Driving the Thai Startup Directory, Empowering Thai Startups to Grow” was held, with representatives from key agencies such as the Department of Business Development, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), the National Innovation Agency (NIA), and the Office of the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO) participating in the discussion.
There were also seminars on interesting topics such as “”Must Survive…Being a Startup is Painful”” by experts from Bitkub Blockchain Technology and Guardian AI, “”Zipevent’s M&A Way”” by the CEO & Co-Founder of ZipEvent, and “”The Way to IPO”” by the CEO & Co-Founder of SkillLane.
