AIS, Thailand’s leading telecommunications and digital technology provider, reported robust financial performance for 2024, amidst both domestic and international economic challenges. The company achieved total revenue of 213.57 billion baht and a net profit of 35.075 billion baht, reflecting the success of its business operations across all segments, including mobile, home internet, and enterprise services. This reinforces AIS’s vision of becoming a Cognitive Tech-Co, focused on developing the country’s digital infrastructure.
Montri Khongkruephan, Chief Finance Officer of AIS, stated, “2024 was another challenging year for business operations, with global economic volatility, geopolitical situations, and interest rates. Meanwhile, the domestic economy faced high household debt… AIS certainly adapted to overcome these challenges by focusing on delivering the best user experience to customers and operating with prudence. As a result, in 2024, the company was able to maintain growth in its operating results as targeted.”
Mobile Business: AIS maintained its market leadership with a total of 45.8 million subscribers, an increase of 1.1 million from the previous year, driven by increased usage demand and the introduction of diverse digital services. Notably, 5G subscribers increased to 12 million, growing by 31% year-on-year, reflecting the success of AIS’s 5G network expansion, which covers more than 95% of the population and has been recognized as Thailand’s best 5G network, winning 12 awards from Ookla®.
Home Internet Business: AIS 3BB FIBRE3 had a total of 5 million subscribers, growing by 243,000 from the previous year. This strong growth was attributed to the revenue recognition of 3BB and the continuous introduction of innovations, such as the Home FibreLAN service, which enables high-speed internet access of 1 Gbps in every room of the house, and the AI-powered Smart Router, which perfectly meets user needs.
Enterprise Services Business: AIS continued its strong growth in this segment, with a 22% year-on-year growth rate. This was driven by the introduction of innovative solutions that meet the needs of Thai businesses, particularly cloud services and data networks. AIS has partnered with global partners such as Oracle Cloud to launch Hyperscale Cloud services and the GSA Data Center, a world-class data center that uses clean energy and has the highest security systems.
Continued Investment in 2025:
AIS has planned an investment budget of 26-27 billion baht in 2025 to enhance the capabilities of Thailand’s Digital Infrastructure, including mobile and home internet networks, as well as cloud and data center systems, to support the growth of the digital economy and improve the quality of life for Thais.
“We will continue to invest to further enhance the capabilities of Thailand’s Digital Infrastructure, including mobile and home internet networks, to improve the quality of life for Thais equitably and equally, as well as cloud and data center systems, which are the backbone of the business sector in driving the country’s economy,” added Mr. Montri.
AIS is committed to being more than just a telecommunications service provider, but a leader in driving Thailand’s digital economy by developing a strong infrastructure and offering innovations that meet the needs of customers both now and in the future.
