Microsoft Thailand reinforces its commitment to empowering Thai individuals and businesses with the grand opening of its new office at the One Bangkok development. The office embodies four core pillars – Wellness, Inclusivity, Modern Workplace, and Sustainability – leveraging AI and data-driven insights to create a work environment tailored for the digital age, while also reflecting a deep connection to Thailand through its “Digital Harmony” design concept.
BANGKOK, Thailand – Microsoft (Thailand) Limited has set a new standard for office spaces in Thailand with the official opening of its new headquarters at One Bangkok. This office is more than just a workplace; it’s a “prototype” for the modern office, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of employee needs.
“For 50 years globally and 32 years in Thailand, Microsoft has been a trusted partner to individuals and organizations, driving innovation that transforms the way people work,” stated Dhanawat Suthumpun, Managing Director of Microsoft Thailand. He emphasized Microsoft’s enduring commitment to developing technology that meets the evolving needs of the workforce.
Dhanawat Suthumpun added, “Our vision for this new office is to create a space that empowers individuals to think boldly, act decisively, and express their ideas freely. Our goal is to create a positive impact on the people of Thailand, businesses, and the nation as a whole, enabling them to thrive in an AI-powered digital future.”
A Data-Driven Office, Designed for People
Microsoft conducted extensive research with leading organizations across nine countries to understand the changing landscape of the modern workplace. The findings revealed a shift in the definition of “efficiency” and “success,” with organizations placing greater emphasis on factors beyond sales and profit, such as employee productivity, teamwork, shared goals, and a positive organizational culture.
These insights formed the foundation for the new office design. Data, including office utilization statistics, and direct employee feedback were meticulously collected to ensure the new office genuinely addresses the needs of its workforce.
Four Pillars of the Modern Workplace
Microsoft Thailand’s new office is designed around four key principles:
-
Wellness: Prioritizing employee health and well-being through features like lighting systems that minimize eye strain, height-adjustable desks, dedicated Focus Rooms for concentrated work, Phone Rooms for private conversations, and a supportive nursing room for parents.
-
Inclusivity: Creating an environment where everyone can thrive, with accessibility features such as Hearing Loops for individuals with hearing impairments, appropriately positioned switches and card readers for wheelchair users, and automatic doors.
-
Modern Workplace: Enhancing communication and collaboration with advanced technology, including AI-powered cameras that capture whiteboard content for remote meeting participants, large-format TVs or Surface Hubs in every meeting room, and the Copilot solution as a work assistant.
-
Sustainability: Utilizing recycled materials and energy-efficient technologies to reduce environmental impact and conserve energy.
“Digital Harmony”: Blending Technology and Thai Identity
The new office reflects Microsoft’s connection to Thailand through the “Digital Harmony” concept, which seamlessly integrates the cutting-edge nature of technology with the unique characteristics of Thai culture. Design elements, materials, and decorations inspired by Thai art and culture are incorporated, such as the Ratchaphruek flower, Siamese fighting fish, silver barb fish, and Hanuman imagery composed of Thai letters and numbers.
Furthermore, the meeting rooms within the office are named after popular Thai dishes, such as Tom Yum, Pad Thai, Khao Soi, and Panang, reflecting the cultural diversity of Thailand.
AI-Powered Technology Enhancing Work
Microsoft continues to develop AI-powered tools and assistants to boost productivity, such as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365, which come equipped with continuously evolving AI agents. These include a SharePoint agent for knowledge management, a Facilitator for meeting management, an Interpreter for language translation, a Project Manager, and an Employee Service agent for initial support. Copilot serves as the future UX for AI, enhancing collaboration and freeing up employees’ time for innovation, skill development, and increased job satisfaction.
The opening of Microsoft Thailand’s new office at One Bangkok is more than just a relocation; it’s a declaration of the company’s commitment to being a leader in technology and innovation. It is poised to drive Thailand forward into the digital age by creating a workplace that meets the needs of modern professionals and fosters effective collaboration, ultimately creating a lasting positive impact on Thai society.
