Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Deloitte Thailand have officially completed an infrastructure enhancement project at Lumpini Park. The initiative focuses on pedestrian accessibility, public safety, and green space restoration to support sustainable urban development in Bangkok.
Infrastructure Upgrades and Pedestrian Connectivity
The core of the collaboration centered on the comprehensive restoration of Lumpini Park’s pedestrian bridge, establishing a direct link between key sections of the grounds and improving public access to essential recreational facilities. In addition to structural bridge repairs, the project introduced modernized lighting systems, refreshed landscaping, and renovated seating areas designed to create a safer environment for exercise and community activities in the city center.
Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, stated that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating long-term benefits for city residents. He noted that the project enhances accessibility, connectivity, and safety across Lumpini Park, reinforcing its role as a high-quality public space that supports cultural and recreational initiatives while contributing directly to BMA’s Development Strategy for 2026.
Sustainable Community Investment and Regional Collaboration
Marking the project’s completion, Deloitte installed a 10-meter Green Dot sphere in the center of the park’s lake for a week-long public display. Dr. Metinee Jongsaliswang, Country Managing Partner of Deloitte Thailand, stated that contributing to Thailand involves supporting local communities alongside economic growth, emphasizing that the park’s revitalized infrastructure provides lasting utility for current and future generations.
The handover coincided with the Deloitte Southeast Asia Partner Conference held in Bangkok, where more than 400 Deloitte partners, staff, and BMA officials took part in a fun run across the renovated park grounds. Mr. Eugene Ho, Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Southeast Asia, noted that Southeast Asia’s future relies on sustainable and well-connected economies, highlighting the Lumpini Park project as a model of practical collaboration between public administrations and the private sector to strengthen local quality of life.
