AIS Aunjai CYBER partnership with Kaihuaror Studio continues with special episode of Comicnication series

Aunjai CYBER

Online crime and cyber-threats continue as criminals think up new scams to cheat the unwary. The rate of cybercrime continues to be on the up. Data from the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau or Cyber Cops discovered that since last March, there have been over 10,000 cases of people being scammed online. The total damage is averagely 74MB per day. The Thailand Cyber Wellness Index reported that at present, 44.04% of Thais are at risk of cyber threats, especially in the matter of negotiating the online world safely and keeping up with digital skills, and distinguishing data.

Most Thai people are at the basic level, highlighting a lack of knowledge and understanding, and therefore being at risk from cyber threats. They can easily become the victims of scammers. For this reason, AIS Aunjai CYBER will continue to build digital immunity for the Thai public by giving them the digital knowledge and skills to keep up with each cyber threat.

It has been working with Thailand’s leading Content Creator and cartoon communicator Kaihuaror Studio on the project of Comicnication, with its “Confessions” series of hit cartoon strips and a special segment on “How to deal with scammers.” Witoon, the leading protagonist of the cartoon, provides compelling content on cyber threats and methods to deal with them, in an easy-to-understand style of cartoon animation.

Ms Saichon Submakudom, acting Head of Public Relations and Business Relations at AIS, noted, “Cyber threats are a national issue which are a severe menace to the lives of customers and the public, causing significant damage to life and property. AIS, the country’s leading digital service provider, has never let up posing questions and suggesting new methods with the power of partnership in every sector. Thai people will gain the knowledge to keep up with every kind of cyber-scam. This is why we are collaborating with Content Creators to alert every customer segment.

At latest, we continuing our ongoing collaboration with Kaihuaror Studio with a strategy of Comicnication, following our presentation of the cartoon, “Fell in love but couldn’t get up!” aimed at communicating understanding of the digital skills required to use the Internet safely. This attracted Engagement of over 1 million views on a variety of media channels. Therefore, we were keen to do it again, telling an easy-to-understand story to reach and warn the Thai public.

Aunjai CYBER

“This time around, AIS Aunjai CYBER and Kaihuaror are focused on producing Edutainment content in a How-to format, as in how to deal with scammers’ techniques, and communicating in a cartoon which is simple to understand. It will assist the Thai public in keeping up with scams and how to deal with them. Besides dissemination on social media, the series is also part of the Aunjai CYBER syllabus for students of all ages.

They receive useful content at the same time as boosting their digital skills. This is because we believe in the power of creative ideas and community expertise, so that 1 + 1 ideas is worth more than just 2. It is not just content, but building a society of safe and responsible Internet usage, which is the core mission of AIS Aunjai CYBER.”

Ms Pimpicha Utsahajit, Executive Director of Vithita Group, “This is another occasion for us to be part of building public awareness of internet scammers, who are hoping to con people out of their money. The AIS Aunjai CYBER message is presented in the inimitable style of Kaihuaror. This time, we have chosen Storytelling through our hit series “Confessions”.

This series tells a story in the Kaihuaror style of a regular character always getting into trouble, Khun Witoon, who is the main protagonist. He tells the tale of Internet scammers and how to deal with them. It is easy for viewers to understand and apply if they are faced with the real thing. We would like to thank AIS for recognizing the Soft Power of cartoons, which are not all fun and games. They can be useful as part of the collaboration to deal with cyber-threats from scammers.”
