LINE Thailand Unveils New Digital Life Platform Strategy, Showcasing 3 New Services

LINE Thailand is not standing still! The company is expanding its scope from a chat application to a “digital life platform.” It has launched new services, IP Business strategies, and developer technologies, aiming to meet all aspects of Thai users’ lives and create new opportunities for businesses and developers.

At LINE CONFERENCE THAILAND 2025, LINE Thailand announced its ambitious new mission: “Create an amazing life platform that brings WOW! to our users.” This focuses on becoming a digital life platform by leveraging the strengths of its chat features and the Hyper-localization & Humanization strategy, which reaches over 56 million Thai users. This approach allows LINE to create new services that truly meet user needs.

Mr. Norasit Sitivechvichit, Chief Operating Officer of LINE Thailand, stated, “From our previous mission of ‘Closing the Distance,’ which focused on connecting people, we are now moving towards a new mission… a bigger step in becoming a life platform in the digital world… This marks a significant milestone in elevating Thailand’s platform ecosystem and digital industry to the next level.”

Three New Services to Create WOW! in 2025:

LINE Thailand plans to launch three new services on the LINE app within 2025 to enhance the quality of life for Thai users more comprehensively:

LINE Thailand

LINE PREMIUM: A premium subscription service that offers LINE users an enhanced chat experience with exclusive features. For just 169 baht per month, LINE PREMIUM users will receive:

  • Customizable Appearance: Change the LINE app icon and fonts (Fonts Alternation) to match their style.
  • Multiple Profiles: Create multiple sub-profiles (Sub Profile), ideal for users who want to separate personal and work profiles or profiles for different friend groups.
  • Worry-Free Backup: Back up chat data (Message Backup) with no expiration date, with up to 100 GB of storage. Never worry about losing important data. *.
  • Partner Privileges offered
    • LINE SHOPPING: Get a discount coupon valued 69 baht/month.
    • LINE VIP: Get free delivery and food order coupons from LINE MAN, worth up to 1,000 baht per month.

The service is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of this year.

  • Key Highlight: Addresses users’ needs for privacy, data management, value for money, and extra benefits.

Mr. Norasit added: “All basic services (of LINE) will continue to be free… LINE can provide free services because LINE sells advertising… But as I mentioned, some features… have high running costs, so we need to charge a fee.”

LINE GIFT: A new e-Gifting service under the Social Gifting concept that will transform gift-giving into an easier and more meaningful experience. Users can send e-vouchers from leading brands or products directly to the recipient, even without knowing their address, all through the LINE chat interface. Features include the ability to adjust product color/size, a Wishlist, and scheduled e-Voucher delivery. It is expected to launch in the second half of this year.

  • Key Highlight: Creates a convenient, fast, and personalized gift-giving experience for both senders and recipients.

Mr. Norasit said about LINE GIFT: “Price will no longer be the most important thing, but quality will be… For Thais, the more expensive the gift, the more it means they care.”

LINE HEALTH: A telemedicine service that connects users with online medical service providers, reducing barriers for patients who live far away or don’t have time to visit a hospital. It is currently in the trial phase, featuring services from Health At Work, OOCA (online mental health consultation), and health knowledge updates. In the future, it will launch a Health Shop and expand partnerships with other service providers, including services for universal healthcare cardholders.

  • Key Highlight: Easy, convenient, fast, and comprehensive access to medical services.

Mr. Norasit explained data security: “This data is highly sensitive… We have designed the system to store it only on the partner’s platform. No patient data will be stored on LINE’s OA.”

Connection to government welfare: “Currently… we are working with partners… trying to connect with government welfare… It’s just a matter of time before we have our partners align with the government.”

IP Business Strategy: Unlimited Business Opportunities:

LINE CONFERENCE THAILAND 2025 also introduced LINE’s IP Business strategy for the first time in Thailand, with two main businesses:

LINE introduced LINE MINIAPP, a tool that makes it easier for developers to create apps on LINE, reducing the limitations of native app development. It also launched the LINE DEVELOPER PARTNER program to support Thai developers, providing them with comprehensive support from LINE.

LINE MINIAPP: Reduces app development costs and time.

LINE DEVELOPER PARTNER: Supports Thai developers in terms of knowledge, marketing, and opportunities to collaborate on projects with various businesses.

Future Plans: LINE will allow external developers to create services on LINE’s infrastructure and develop a BOT MARKETPLACE, a hub for bots that meet users’ needs.
