THONG SALA, SURAT THANI — True Corporation Public Company Limited has expanded its 5G network coverage across Koh Phangan to support the “Feel All the Feelings @ Koh Phangan: Recharge Your Life” campaign. The initiative aims to enhance connectivity infrastructure for local residents, domestic tourists, international travelers, and digital nomads residing on the island.
Supporting Marine Tourism and Local Communities
The network enhancement covers key transport routes and event venues, starting from Surat Thani Airport, continuing through the ferry passage, and reaching the main festival grounds at Thong Sala Pier. The “Feel All the Feelings @ Koh Phangan” event, organized under the concept “The Island of Power Energized by the Moon,” showcases the island’s natural environment, local arts, and cultural heritage.
Oliver Kittipong Veeratecha, Chief Brand and Communications Officer of True Corporation Public Company Limited, attended the opening ceremony alongside Paisit Thongcherm, Koh Phangan District Chief; Nittharat Wanitcharoen, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Koh Samui Office; and Naruemon Maisopha, President of the Koh Phangan Hotel and Tourism Association.

The infrastructure development aligns with economic data from TAT showing that Koh Phangan welcomed 1,770,164 visitors in 2025, comprising 518,685 Thai tourists (29 percent) and 1,251,479 international tourists (71 percent). The island generated over 25,399.26 million baht in tourism revenue, with 21,762.67 million baht (86 percent) derived from international visitor spending and 3,636.59 million baht (14 percent) from domestic visitors.
Targeted Coverage Zones and Technical Infrastructure
To support high data demand during the event, True’s engineering teams surveyed and expanded 5G capacity across key strategic locations. Special optimization efforts focused on five key activity zones, including the primary event site at HTMS Koh Phangan (713) and Thong Sala Pier, the Thong Sala–Ban Tai transport corridor, Haad Rin Beach, Phangan Bayshore Resort, and Mae Haad Beach.
The technical deployment utilizes eight frequency bands monitored by artificial intelligence (AI) systems around the clock. Base stations operate using intelligent energy management that automatically adjusts operational power based on real-time traffic demand to balance performance with energy efficiency.

The event framework highlights cultural and environmental initiatives, featuring the HTMS Koh Phangan (713) decommissioned navy vessel acting as a venue for the “Thai Sahakij: Memories of Phangan” photography exhibition by local photographer Narin Poolsap. Additional activities include performances, the traditional Loi Khrao boat ceremony, local market stalls, and sustainable dining initiatives under the Southern Thai Kin Hor tradition focused on reducing plastic usage.
