Global edge data center operator ETIX Everywhere has officially launched ETIX BKK#2 in Bangkok, adding 20 megawatts (MW) of IT capacity backed by a financing credit facility of up to $70 million. The new facility expands the operator’s Bangkok Campus in Bang Chalong, Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, from 5 MW to 25 MW, scaling its total capacity by more than fourfold. Engineered to support high-density artificial intelligence and cloud workloads up to 200 kilowatts (kW) per rack, the campus has already seen its initial 2 MW phase fully committed prior to commercial operations.

Campus Expansion and High-Density AI Readiness

The commissioning of ETIX BKK#2 builds upon the operational footprint of BKK#1 within the Bangna-Samut Prakan industrial corridor. The $70 million financing facility supports both the completion of the final development phase of the initial site and the rollout of the new facility. ETIX Everywhere plans to deploy capital progressively, projecting that half of the campus capacity will be occupied within the next two years to meet surging enterprise and hyperscale digital infrastructure requirements.

The facility’s technical architecture is specifically configured to handle advanced graphics processing unit (GPU) computing clusters. The facility delivers dedicated power and specialized cooling systems capable of sustaining thermal loads of up to 200 kW per rack, catering to cloud service providers, content delivery networks, and AI model developers integrating accelerated computing into their primary services.

Pierre Patris, Chief Executive Officer of ETIX Asia, stated that the capability to deliver 200 kW per rack enables the facility to support high-density GPU deployments seamlessly. He noted that modern digital applications, cloud platforms, and content services must now integrate AI into their operational workflows, making specialized power delivery and advanced heat dissipation essential to avoid performance bottlenecks.

Strategic Focus on AI Inference and Local Interconnection

Market absorption at ETIX BKK#2 is highlighted by the immediate commitment of its entire 2 MW first phase to a major global content provider based in the United States. Despite substantial inbound demand for AI computing capacity, the company maintains a selective tenant admission policy designed to reinforce its core position as an open carrier-neutral interconnection hub.

Patris explained that ETIX Everywhere is deliberately avoiding the construction of gigawatt-scale AI model training facilities, focusing instead on practical AI inference processing serving Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The operator balances its tenant portfolio across corporate enterprises, the financial sector, cloud providers, and AI deployers to mitigate concentration risk and preserve network interconnection value.

The Bangkok Campus functions as an aggregated telecommunications gateway, hosting three major cloud and internet platforms alongside Thailand’s two primary internet exchange points, BKNIX and THNIX. It integrates network connections from all domestic telecommunications operators, including AIS, True, and Symphony, enabling local data traffic exchange to reduce network latency and lower international IP transit expenses for local enterprises.

Zero-Water Cooling and Sustainable Energy Infrastructure

ETIX operates under a dual framework centered on ethical sustainability and internet exchange connectivity. Operating in Thailand since 2022, the company has deployed a closed-loop, zero-water cooling system that avoids conventional evaporative cooling towers. This architecture achieves a Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) metric below 0.01 liters per kilowatt-hour, while the operational Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) at BKK#1 remains below 1.4.

Louis Blanchot, Chief Executive Officer of ETIX Everywhere Group, stated that the ethical foundation of the business relies on zero-water cooling mechanisms, green power integration, and high engineering benchmarks. He added that the internet exchange model establishes direct interconnection among networks, enterprise systems, and AI platforms within the same campus without compromising environmental standards.

The campus targets a 100% renewable energy transition. BKK#1 currently operates a 6,000-square-meter rooftop photovoltaic installation generating 1 megawatt-peak (MWp), with expansion plans to scale solar capacity across adjacent properties to 10 MWp as BKK#2 reaches full buildout. ETIX is also negotiating Direct Power Purchase Agreements (Direct PPAs) with domestic utility producers, including B.Grimm, Banpu, and Gulf, while preparing onsite Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to capture off-peak grid energy for peak operating hours.

Regulatory Alignment and Long-Term Power Evolution

The Bangkok Campus is located within a designated purple industrial zone in full compliance with municipal zoning regulations and incorporates elevated flood mitigation defenses. These operational practices align with the ETIX Group 2025 ESG Report, which documents a 75% group-wide renewable energy ratio, an 80% reduction in Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, and an EcoVadis Gold rating with a score of 81 points.

Patris highlighted that Thailand is transitioning into a Tier-1 data center hub in Asia alongside Singapore, Malaysia, and India. He endorsed the Thai government’s implementation of rigorous screening committees for incoming data center investments, drawing parallels to Singapore’s regulatory framework, which prioritizes high-value economic projects that optimize national electricity and water consumption.

Addressing long-term technological trends, Patris noted that gigawatt-scale AI training centers will eventually exceed the land capacity required for solar installations, necessitating the adoption of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) as seen in US technology sectors. For Thailand, where SMR deployment and supply chain integration will require at least a decade of preparation, accelerated renewable development and Direct PPA frameworks remain the primary drivers of sustainable digital infrastructure growth.
