The Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, is preparing to host the Creative Excellence Awards 2026 to honor outstanding individuals and organizations from both the public and private sectors. Taking place on 14 August 2026, from 17.30 to 19.30 hrs at NEX Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon, the annual platform celebrates creative achievements that successfully generate economic, social, cultural, and environmental value for Thailand. The event will also feature an international forum exploring the “Made in Italy” model as a global benchmark for value creation and competitiveness.

Driving National Competitiveness Through Creativity

As technology and innovation become standard baselines globally, creativity serves as a vital resource to differentiate nations and strengthen competitiveness. Transforming creative potential into tangible economic and social outcomes remains an urgent priority for Thailand, especially as global competition shifts from production costs to value creation derived from design, identity, and cultural capital. These key factors enhance product value, elevate national image, and attract foreign investment and tourism.

“Thailand possesses rich cultural capital, diverse communities, entrepreneurial potential, and creatives who are internationally recognized,” stated Dr. Chakrit Pichyangkul, Executive Director of the Creative Economy Agency. “What CEA seeks to drive is the development of an ecosystem where creativity does not stop at creative works alone, but can be translated into businesses, public policy, urban development, and social development that deliver tangible outcomes. One of CEA’s key objectives is to elevate the Creative Excellence Awards into an internationally recognized awards platform that not only celebrates the achievements of award recipients, but also serves as a mechanism for gaining global recognition for Thai creative excellence through a systematic, transparent, and internationally benchmarked selection process.”

Organized for the fourth consecutive year, the awards also act as a springboard for Thai talent onto the global stage. For instance, past recipients from the 2025 awards earned three accolades at the Paris Design Awards 2026 in France and one at the Creative Tourism Awards in Spain, demonstrating the international standards of Thai design. Dr. Chakrit added that the awards platform will continue to “create opportunities for recipients to expand onto international platforms, build business networks, and participate in CEA’s major initiatives to unlock future economic opportunities.”
