Dell Technologies and Nutanix have expanded their ongoing 14-year partnership with the official availability of Dell PowerStore support for the Nutanix Cloud Platform on Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) 7.6. Announced on August 11, 2026, in Bangkok, this integration brings end-to-end NVMe all-flash storage performance and independent compute and storage scaling to the Nutanix AHV hypervisor. The deployment provides enterprise-grade external storage capabilities directly within the Nutanix environment, designed for organizations seeking high storage performance without compromising operational simplicity.

PowerStore becomes the second Dell storage platform to integrate with Nutanix Cloud Platform, following PowerFlex. The solution allows organizations to run mission-critical workloads, databases, and data-intensive analytics with consistent low-latency storage while preserving the operational experience native to Nutanix.

Technical Capabilities and Architecture Features

The integration connects Dell’s flagship NVMe all-flash PowerStore platform transparently into Nutanix Prism, requiring no new management tools or additional training for existing operations teams. Daily tasks such as storage provisioning, snapshots, cloning, and virtual hard disk expansion are executed directly through the Prism interface.

Compute and storage resources can be scaled independently based on workload demand. Through Dell Private Cloud, organizations can add Dell PowerEdge compute nodes or expand PowerStore capacity along separate tracks. Capacity expansions can be executed granularly one drive at a time using PowerStore’s Dynamic Resiliency Engine. Additionally, the architecture includes an always-on 6:1 data reduction guarantee through inline deduplication and compression to optimize storage capacity utilization.

“Customers across APJ are looking for infrastructure that delivers both flexibility and simplicity without compromising performance,” said Helder Queiros, Senior Director, OEM & Alliances, APJ, Nutanix. “By bringing Dell PowerStore to the Nutanix Cloud Platform, we’re enabling organisations to leverage enterprise-grade storage capabilities and scale compute and storage independently – all while using the Prism tools they already know. This is another clear example of how Dell and Nutanix are delivering customers greater choice and control for our customer’ IT strategies.”

Cyber resilience and data protection policies are managed centrally via Prism, offering options ranging from asynchronous replication to Metro synchronous protection with zero Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and zero Recovery Time Objective (RTO). Remote backup functionality is provided via Dell PowerProtect Data Manager, supporting long-term data retention, cloud archiving, and retention locks.

Deployment Framework and Availability

The foundation is completed by Dell Private Cloud, which automates AHV hypervisor deployment using validated blueprints, orchestrates full-stack lifecycle management, and provides system-level hardware support from Dell. Independent validation by market research firm Omdia noted that Dell Private Cloud enables organizations to deploy workload-ready clusters in approximately 2.5 hours with zero manual effort after hardware installation, reducing deployment steps by over 90% compared to manual methods.
