Volvo Car Thailand has announced the renaming of two of its models, the Volvo C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge, to Volvo EC40 and Volvo EX40, respectively. The “E” in the new names stands for “Electric,” aligning with the company’s focus on electric vehicle development. In addition to the name changes, Volvo has also launched a special edition Black Edition for both models, featuring a striking Onyx Black exterior design that caters to the preferences of the younger generation. The Black Edition models come with a special price tag, offering a ฿300,000 discount compared to the regular models.

The Volvo EC40 and EX40 Black Edition models boast an Onyx Black exterior with glossy black accents on the logo,front grille, 20-inch wheels, and rear lettering. Inside the cabin, a charcoal black theme is applied to the seats, steering wheel, and headliner, creating a sporty yet elegant ambiance while maintaining Volvo’s signature Scandinavian design.
Both electric vehicles are equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system that seamlessly integrates with Google applications and the Android operating system. Drivers and passengers can easily access Google Maps, Google Assistant,and download various applications through the Google Play Store.
High-Performance Electric Motors
The Volvo EC40 and EX40 are available in both Twin Motor and Single Motor configurations, offering a maximum driving range of 565-650 kilometers on a single charge (depending on the model and driving conditions).
- Volvo EC40 and EX40 Twin Motor: Dual electric motors delivering a maximum power of 408 horsepower and 670 Nm of torque, with an 82 kWh battery capacity and support for DC fast charging up to 200 kW.
