AIS Targets Public Investors with AAA-Rated 2.29% 7-Year Bond

Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS), Thailand’s leading telecommunications and digital infrastructure provider , has announced a significant public offering of 7-year debentures, signaling a prime opportunity for stable investment. The offering, scheduled for a brief subscription window from 10–12 November 2025 , is underpinned by a top-tier AAA(tha) credit rating from Fitch Ratings (Thailand) and comes on the heels of a stellar third-quarter financial performance, which saw the company’s net profit surge by 37% year-on-year.

This debenture issuance is positioned as more than just a capital-raising exercise; AIS frames it as an opportunity for the general public to invest in the nation’s “integrated intelligent telecommunications leader”. The move reflects the company’s robust financial standing and its strategic commitment to funding the continued development of Thailand’s digital framework.

The Investment Opportunity: AAA-Rated Stability

For business leaders and private investors seeking stable, long-term returns, the specifics of the AIS offering provide a clear picture of a high-grade investment vehicle.

  • Credit Rating: The debentures carry a AAA(tha) rating, affirmed by Fitch Ratings on 12 September 2025. This is the highest possible national rating, reflecting AIS’s exceptionally strong business fundamentals and robust financial position.
  • Coupon Rate: The 7-year notes offer a fixed coupon of 2.29% per annum.
  • Payment Structure: Interest will be payable to bondholders every six months throughout the life of the notes.
  • Accessibility: Targeted at the general public (Public Offering) , the minimum subscription is set at THB 100,000, with subsequent additions in increments of THB 100,000.
  • Subscription Period: The public offering is available for a limited time, from 10–12 November 2025.

Corporate Strategy: Beyond Connectivity to “Cognitive Tech-Co”

Mr. Tee Seeumpornroj, Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Chief Financial Officer at AIS, emphasized the strategic importance of the issuance. “This debenture issuance… reaffirms an investment opportunity with the potential to deliver sustainable, long-term returns, underpinned by a robust intelligent-telecommunications business foundation,” he stated.

The capital is earmarked to support AIS’s relentless expansion of Thailand’s digital infrastructure. The company’s 5G network now covers over 95% of the population, while its high-speed broadband network reaches more than 20 million households nationwide.

This infrastructure forms the foundation for AIS’s ambitious “Cognitive Tech-Co” vision. The company is moving beyond traditional telecom services to drive platform innovation for key enterprise and industrial sectors. This strategy, guided by an “AI for a Sustainable Nation” ambition, aims to leverage technology and innovation to “propel Thai businesses” and ensure stable, sustainable growth for the Thai economy.

Financial Fortitude: Analyzing Q3 2025 Performance

The confidence projected by AIS is substantially backed by its impressive third-quarter 2025 financial results, which demonstrate strong growth and effective cost management.

The company reported a total revenue of 54,362 million baht, a 4.1% increase year-on-year. This growth was comprehensive, firing across all major business segments:

  • Mobile Service: Revenue climbed 6.1%, driven by the expansion of quality subscribers and successful promotion of 5G packages and entertainment value-added services.
  • Fixed Broadband: This segment saw a significant 10% revenue increase, attributed to a larger customer base and improving Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).
  • Enterprise & Other Services: A 14% jump in this area reflects strengthening demand for Enterprise Data Services (EDS), cloud solutions, and higher revenue from NT.
  • Device & SIM Sales: Rose 8.7%, indicating heightened demand for smartphones.

Crucially, this top-line growth was converted into remarkable profitability. AIS demonstrated rigorous operating efficiency: cost of services decreased by 6.9% (due to lower depreciation and amortization) and SG&A (Selling, General and Administrative expenses) was reduced by 16%.

This combination of revenue growth and cost discipline resulted in an EBITDA growth of 10% and a powerful 37% year-on-year surge in net profit, which reached 12,039 million baht.

The Market View: Fitch Validates Market Dominance

The AAA(tha) rating is not merely a formality. Fitch Ratings’ assessment provides an independent validation of AIS’s formidable market position. The rating agency highlighted AIS’s “strong credit profile,” which is anchored by its clear leadership in both core markets.

Fitch reports AIS commands a 49% market share in mobile services and a 47% market share in high-speed broadband services.

Furthermore, Fitch noted that AIS’s strategic expansion into enterprise services, data centers, and cloud computing is a key factor in its strength. This diversification broadens the company’s revenue base, enhances its long-term competitiveness, and supports “cash-flow stability over the medium term”.
