Card X Co., Ltd. (CardX) has enabled Google Pay integration via Google Wallet for its cardholders, facilitating contactless tap-to-pay and online transactions directly through Android smartphones. The functionality serves holders of CardX credit cards, the SCB WEALTH Credit Card by CardX, and CardX FLEX loan cards, eliminating the requirement to carry physical plastic or re-enter payment credentials repeatedly.
Digital Payment Integration and Market Adoption
The deployment addresses the expanding footprint of cashless payment systems across Thailand. Data from the Bank of Thailand reveals that digital channels account for 63% of overall payment transactions, complemented by consistent annual growth in consumer credit card spending of 2% to 3%.
Mr. Panya Vechbanyongratana, Chief Business and Channel Officer of Card X Company Limited (CardX), noted that the rollout addresses dynamic shifts in daily consumer routines. “The launch of Google Pay marks another important step in expanding CardX’s digital payment ecosystem, enabling customers to use their credit cards more conveniently both in-store and online while continuing to enjoy their existing card privileges,” he stated, adding that CardX aims to deliver seamless experiences across every spending occasion through continuous technological investments.
Compatibility and Transaction Channels
Cardholders utilizing Android handsets can link eligible cards directly within the Google Wallet application. The service supports merchant transactions globally wherever contactless terminals display Contactless Payment or PayWave symbols, in addition to e-commerce checkouts featuring the Pay with Google Pay option.
Account holders retain all existing card benefits, including reward point accumulation and promotional privileges, under the standard terms and conditions governing each card tier. Eligible instruments include products originally managed under Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited that transitioned to Card X Co., Ltd., even if physical reissue with new branding has not taken place.
Activation Process and Service Terms
Immediate access requires cardholders to download or open the Google Wallet application on an Android device, input their card details, and finish identity verification steps. Once verified, users can complete transactions instantly at in-store point-of-sale terminals or online merchants.
Credit facilities mandate responsible borrowing. Standard credit card operations carry an interest rate of 16% per annum if balances are not paid in full on schedule, while loan cards operate under an interest rate of 25% per annum.
