LG Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. recently united volunteers from LG Thailand for a nature preservation activity aimed at nurturing Thailand’s mangrove forests. This initiative took place in the Mueang District of Samut Songkhram province. Anchored in LG’s “Life’s Good” concept, the project strives to enhance the quality of life for local communities. Led by Mr. Amnaj Singhachan, Head of Marketing at LG Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., LG Thailand employees journeyed to the mangrove preservation area via local longtail boats to plant “Tall – Stilt Mangrove” seedlings. The mangrove forests in Thailand play crucial roles in the country’s ecosystem by preserving marine life, providing habitats and acting as nurseries for a wide array of birds and numerous fish species, dissipating wave energy from large sea waves, storm surges, and tsunamis, and protecting tropical coastal areas from erosion.
The mangrove planting project extends LG Thailand’s commitment to various CSR initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in the country. In 2023, LG Thailand donated LG’s air conditioners, air purifiers, and other products to support teaching and learning in pollution-free environments for better health among youth in educational institutions in Thailand, Cambodia, and Lao PDR, which are vulnerable to smog and fine dust particles (PM2.5). Additionally, LG Thailand undertook a renovation project for Wat Klong Klone School by upgrading its playground and donating an air conditioner unit to enhance the educational experience of Thai youth, who are vital for the country’s future.
